About The Site's Creator
So you're actually curious about who I am, eh?

All right, then, I'll tell you. My name is Jaina Lauren Winston, I'm a girl, and at the time I wrote this I was 17. If you are really that eager to figure out my actual age, I was born on February 20th, 1984. I live a boring, muldrum sort of life in a no-name town in an undisclosed part of Maryland. In case you don't know, Maryland is the most boring state on the Eastern Seaboard of the United States. (Except around Preakness, when all hell breaks loose for about a week.)

When this was written, I was between my Junior and Senior year in high school. (Spirits bless the summer!!) I go to a Catholic High School in which, as I said before, nothing happens. Well, nothing except the occasional drug bust and subsequent rounds with the drug-dogs, but no one I know ever gets caught, so I really don't care all that much. Well, I care. I care that there are animals near me and I want to pet them. I don't care about the actual drug bust. (Yeah, I know, what a humanitarian.)

Obviously, my favorite band is The Beatles. I love music, and I play percussion in my school band. For fun, I play the piano, the guitar, the flute, the harmonica, and the drums. I am best at the piano by a lot. I also sing in my school choir, as an alto. I find I naturally seek out John's voice in Beatles songs, but I'm not sure if it's because he's my favorite or because his range is closest to mine. (Could these things be related? Hmm.)

I like ice hockey, too, and my favorite team is the Detroit Red Wings. I like to draw, write, eat, sleep, cook, and many other things in my free time. I want to be an author and a paramedic when I finally get myself a job. I have delusions of becoming a singer (in a rock and roll band, sorry, couldn't resist the reference to a different '60s British band) but none of the tunes I have match any of my poems, or anything else for that matter. I have a small but close-knit group of friends that I am secure in, and dread losing when we graduate. I am five-foot-four and weigh three times as much as the forty-pound bells I march with in Marching Band.

I can best describe my religion as Animist-Hindu-Wiccan. Confusing, eh? Basically, I believe that all living things have souls, they are all connected, and can be effected by our actions and our rituals. I believe in reincarnation and try to live a life of nonviolence, peace, and love. (You know, there were songs about those things or something, I swear.) My spirituality is actually very much more complex than that, and if you have any questions about it for some bizarre reason, I'd be happy to field them. That is, as long as they are questions and not conversion-attempts. I grew up with a devout United Methodist mother and an atheist father. I've heard both sides of the coin, I have found my spirituality, and I can assure you that a holy-book-thumping e-mail from some faceless name will not change my mind.

If you'd like to get a hold of me, my e-mail address is [email protected]
I have AOL Instant Messenger and ICQ.
My AOL handle is Tikker31 and my ICQ number is 77877025
